Do you have a passion for Country life? Perhaps you've had a Smallholding, a love of Horses/Pets, maybe even an Animal Medicines Advisor Qualification or maybe you're a keen Gardener and would be interested in sharing your knowledge working in a Retail environment.

Retail experience is preferable but not essential as it is the personality, attitude and enthusiasm that is most important.

Tincknell Country Store, Congresbury, are recruiting to fill a vacancy arising from the unfortunate loss of a valued employee. We are looking for someone to join our established and experienced team in the role of Sales Assistant and whom will bring both passion and enthusiasm as well as their own expertise and knowledge, who will enjoy sharing this knowledge and helping our customers and encouraging loyalty and repeat custom.

The role is very varied and includes choosing products to stock, ordering products from Suppliers, building productive relationships with Supplier Representatives, creating appealing retail displays and restocking shelves as well as importantly helping and serving customers on the Till. The role also involves receiving and checking deliveries, so attention to detail is crucial as is being physically capable of relatively heavy lifting and carrying, as this is a considerable part of the role. A willingness to be trained in the use of a Fork Lift Truck is important.

The candidate must be Customer focused with a friendly and helpful approach, keen to learn and have the ability to use their own initiative and both work as part of a small team but to also be comfortable in due course to take responsibility for acting as duty Manager at Weekends. You will be the first point of contact for our customers and provide advice covering our wide range of products, an empathy with the rural community would be a strong advantage.

To be successful you will be a hardworking, enthusiastic and a ‘hands on’ person who has the ability to help drive our store forward to fulfil its potential and will position our store as part of the community.

Hours of work are 45 per week, which will include some bank holidays, plus rota’d Saturday and Sunday working.
